The Tompkins County Youth Orchestra was founded, and is administered, by the non-profit organization, The Violin Player. The TCYO provides quality, full symphony orchestra training, instruction, and performance experience to young Tompkins County musicians and makes it possible for them to experience the discipline and rewards of preparing and performing advanced repertoires. We strongly encourage each student musician's continued participation in other music programs and require their participation in school orchestras and ensembles, as these programs are a vital component to the success and quality of the Tompkins County Youth Orchestra and the cultural life of the community.

Rehearsals for our junior orchestra take place at the Danby Federated Church from 2:30-5:00 (with breaks) on Sunday afternoons during the academic school year. Information regarding our senior orchestra is coming soon.
